Hazaribag, May 5: Flyover construction work will start soon at the busiest Ichak ‘More’ on the state’s lifeline Ranchi-Patna highway popularly known as NH 33. Union Minister of State for Education cum Koderma MP Annapurna Devi was continuously backing the flyover project. Regarding this, on February 11 2021, She had also written a letter to Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. Attracting attention through the letter, it was said that in view of the serious traffic problems, there is a need to construct an over bridge (flyover) at Ichak Mor of NH 33.

She mentioned that due to the movement of heavy vehicles and others, the vehicular movement remains affected around the day creating trouble for the commuters as well as local residents. Even accidents also take place every day. That is why there is a great need for a flyover, she stressed. The construction of the flyover will definitely reduce accidents and will also provide convenience to commuters. In replying to Annapurna, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that action is being taken to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the construction of a flyover at Ichak turn on NH 33.

Giving information about this fresh development, MP representative Sunil Mehta said that he has talked to  Annapurna Devi who said the DPR of the flyover is being prepared. Soon it will be brought in the tender process and the construction of the flyover will start.  Sources said  Ramki Construction which converted the 40 km long Hazaribag-Barhi into a four-lane has not made any proper arrangements for road crossing at Ichak Mor. Due to this accidents take place frequently and claims lives from time to time. Mehta said construction of the flyover will result in a reduction in accidents besides providing convenience to commuters.
