Ranchi, Feb.10: Former chief minister Raghubar Das and BJP national vice president Raghubar Das today demanded resignation from chief minister Hemant Soren and his brother Basant Soren for carrying out business in the field of mining despite being government servants.
Das raised the demand by organising a press conference at the BJP state headquarters in Harmu Housing Colony the same locality where chief minister Hemant Soren has his own residence.
Das made the media persons aware how the chief minister, who also heads the mining department, obtained a mining lease misusing his official position and obtained environmental clearance to carry out stone mining activity at Angara circle in Ranchi in 0.88 acres area.
Apart from this, Das also informed how stone is being transported to Bangladesh from Pakuria under the patronage of Basant Soren. He also said that the Grand Mining Company is indulged in illegal mining.
Circulating relevant documents among media persons Das questioned ‘how come a CM and MLA, who is a government servant, can carry out business.’
He said that the act is a crime under section 7A of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and section 169 of Indian Penal Act.
Das said a BJP delegation will soon knock the door of Raj Bhavan demanding proper steps for disqualification of the chief minister and his MLA brother.
Das said that whenever the JMM, Congress and RJD come together they indulge in such acts which tarnish the image of the state. Earlier these parties had come together to make an independent MLA chief minister of state, who along with this several cabinet colleagues landed in jail for their involvement in several crimes.
Das while exposing the chief minister also took a dig at bureaucracy saying they are licking the boot of the government and not giving right advice to the government.
“It was expected from the bureaucracy to warn ministers against any illegal wrong but it appears that they keep on licking the boot of the government,” Das said.
Das while attacking the CM asked JMM to find another MLA from the party to appoint the chief minister.
