“I welcome Sunil Jakhar to Bharatiya Janata Party. He is an experienced political leader who made a name for himself during his political career. I am confident he will play a big role in strengthening the party in Punjab,” said BJP president JP Nadda.
Notably, the Congress leadership recently issued a show-cause notice to the former Congress leader for his comments towards former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
He expressed regret for parting connections with the Congress, which he referred to as family, and claimed he was ignored because he pointed out that the party could not treat Punjab in percentages or divide people by caste.
