Ranchi, May 19: Suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal’s husband might be running a five star nursing home with all facilities but Sadar Hospital is coming as a great help for her when she is under the ED custody for the last seven days under fluctuating blood pressure.
Two doctors of the Sadar Hospital attended her. On Wednesday, a pediatrician Dr Dayanand Sarswati attended her while today a medicine expert Dr Mayukh attended her. It was Dr Sarswati who prescribed three hours’ rest to the suspended IAS officer after he observed that the blood pressure of the lady is not normal while today Dr Mayukh returned giving her necessary advice.
After investigation, Dr Mayukh said that Singhal’s BP has increased due to which she has been advised to do yoga and meditation.
Dr Mayukh said that in view of the rising blood pressure, she is also being given medicine. He said the lady is also suffering from thyroid.
Dr Mayukh, however, parried reply when asked about medical details saying ‘it is not ethical for a doctor to share medical details of a patient.’ He also did not share today’s blood pressure level which was 110/150 on Wednesday. “There is a slight increase from normal,” Dr Mayukh said when insisted to share a little detail.
Dr Sarswati could not be contacted. It was his off-day today.
An insider said Singhal is quite normal and her health check is a routine exercise. “One should not take it otherwise. If ED has taken her in remand it is its duty to take her proper care. Apart from this, everyone knows how the path is paved to send a VIP accused to RIMS paying ward from jail,” the insider said.
