Dehradun, Jan 27: Former Uttarakhand Congress president Kishore Upadhyay on Thursday formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Earlier Congress expelled him from the party for six years for anti-party activities.

“I have joined BJP with the spirit of taking Uttarakhand forward. You should ask Congress why such a situation has risen,” said Kishor Upadhyay after joining BJP in Dehradun.

Notably, from 2014 to 2017, Kishore Upadhyay was the president of the Congress’ Uttarakhand unit.
