Buxar, Jan 27: Around six people died in the Amsari village of Buxar, Bihar on Wednesday night under unknown circumstances. An investigation has been launched by the police. The family members are inconsolably wailing as a result of the occurrence.

The fatalities, according to the deceased’s family members, were caused by bogus booze. Following the incident, Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar stated that four additional people are in severe condition and are being treated at the hospital.

“We have received information about the death of six persons and it is being investigated. At least five persons died in Bihar’s Saran district on January 22. Saran Collector Rajesh Meena had said that five deaths have been reported from several villages of Amnore and Maker blocks.”

“This happened due to spurious liquor. What is the admn doing? If there is a liquor ban, how are they getting it?” said relatives of the deceased.

Earlier, more than 40 persons had died in West Champaran, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur districts around the month of November due to spurious liquor. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had promised the women of the state that they would ban liquor in the state. A year later, in April 2016, there was a complete ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in Bihar.
