Dhanbad, Oct 13: The Classes of the 2022-23 MBBS batch will kick start in medical colleges in the state from November 15. Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission NMC) today announced the complete academic calendar for the 2022-23 MBBS batch.
However, the admission process for selected students has yet to start in medical colleges.
According to guidelines issued by UBMEB director Shambhu Sharan Kumar, the first professional MBBS course (three subjects anatomy, physiology and biochemistry) would be completed in 13 months between November 15, 2022 and December 15, 2023.
Moreover, the second professional MBBS course (of three subjects pathology, microbiology and pharmacology) would be completed in 13 months between December 16, 2023 to January 15, 2025.
Additionally, the third professional MBBS course (part 1) of the 2022-23 batch (in forensic medicines and toxicology, and community medicine PSM) would be completed in 10.5 months between January 16, 2025 to November 25, 2025.
Similarly, the fourth professional (part-2) course (general surgery, general medicine, paediatrics, OB. Gy, ENT and Ophth) would be completed in 17.5 months between December 2025 to May 2027.
As per the academic calendar, 12 months Internship of the 2022-23 batch would be held between June 1st 2027 to May 31st 2028. UGMEB has however left the decision on vocations in the institution and examination schedules of examination on concerning university of the college.
The guidelines said Electives 2 blocks of 15 days each to be adjusted college for ( a) pre/ paraclinical branches and (b0 clinical branches. Supplementary examinations to be conducted with a gap of 1 months from the regular examination and result to be declared within 15 days.
Yoga, family adoption programme through village outreach will continue as for 2021-22 batch.
