Friends beat youth to death for denying feast in Dumka

Dumka, Aug 16: In a bizarre incident, denying to oblige friends by organising feast proved costly to Sashi Sah (23) who was allegedly beaten to the extent by them that he succumbed to the injuries.

Resident of Bandarjori Mohalla under town police station, Sashi according to his family members had gone to meet his friends on their instance on Monday evening.

 Sashi, however, was having injuries marks in his body as he was brought to home by same friends in late evening in a semi-conscious state whose condition started deteriorating in the night.

“We rushed him (deceased) to the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital after his condition started deteriorating but he died in the morning while being treated,” Vishnu, deceased’s younger brother said reporters claiming that his brother stated to have been beaten up severely by his friends for not being generous enough to organise party for them.

The deceased had recently returned from Delhi where he worked in a private firm for a month.

All the three friends namely Aman Sharma, Bipin Sharma and Laltu Sharma belonging to different localities of the town in this connection however have been arrested and sent to jail.

“All the three accused persons have been arrested and we are awaiting postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death,” the officer in-charge of the town police station Nitesh Kumar said.
