New Delhi, Oct.27: Petrol and diesel prices have been raised once more today, bringing them to an all-time high ahead of Diwali. With the recent increase, petrol now costs Rs 107.94 per litre in Delhi, while diesel costs Rs 96.67 per litre. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol costs Rs 113.80, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 104.75.

Petrol costs Rs 104.83 per litre in Chennai, while diesel costs Rs 100.92 per litre. The price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs 108.46 per litre. Diesel is now priced at Rs 99.78 a litre in Kolkata.

The increase in fuel prices follows a two-day break in rate revisions after they remained unchanged on October 25 and 26. Prior to that, the price of petrol and diesel rose for five days in a row, from October 20 to October 24. On October 18 and 19, the fuel prices remained steady.

About 85% of India’s oil needs are satisfied by imports, that is why the local pricing are based on worldwide oil prices. It should be mentioned that the daily price changes of petrol and diesel are handled by the state-owned Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL).

The price of international Brent Crude has reached over a three-year high, of over $86 per barrel amid increasing global demands as OPEC+ is moving slowly on increasing productions.
