Dhanbad, May 29:
A high- level delegation of the Federation of University Teachers Association of Jharkhand (FUTAJ), the frontal organization of all universities teachers of the state, today met the Chancellor’s ( Governor) principal secretary Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni and made him aware about the problems being faced by teachers from curtailment of leave and non- implementation of other pending demands.
The delegation under FUTAJ general secretary Prof Rajkumar( Ranchi University) informed the principal secretary that the university and college teachers are vocational staff as per JSU Act 2000.
The decision to curtail the vacation has widened the discrimination. Non-vocational staff get 33 earn leave, 16 casual plus public holiday. At the same time, the vocational staff get only 12 earn leave, 08 casual and public holidays.
This means that following the decision to curtail the summer vacation to 20 days is not justifiable.
The delegation said the casual leave of the teaching staff was curtailed to 08 from 16 in 2018. So CL should not be discriminatory between teaching and non teaching staff within institutions.
Besides Prof Rajkumar, Dr Hariom Pandey, Dr Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary, general secretary BBMKU Teachers Association Dhanbad, Dr Indal Paswan, general secretary Kolhan Univesity Teachers Association, Dr Ashok Nag , general secretary Shyama Prasad Mukherji University Teachers Association, Ranchi, Dr Anmol Aman Bana SKMU Dumka, Dr Jitendra Aryan, BBMKU, Dr Sanjiv Lochan Ranchi university and Dr Smrit Singh of the post graduate teachers association Ranchi University were other members of the delegation.
