Giridih: IT dept lodges FIR against Mongia Steel Chairman, son

Dhanbad, Dec 20: The Income Tax  (IT) department’s investigation wing  has lodged an FIR against Mongia Steel Limited chairman and his son at the Giridih Mufassil police station for creating obstruction in official works and deleting  data in computer during  its survey.
The official said an FIR was lodged against Mongia Steel Limited chairman Gunwant Singh Mongia and his son Harinder Singh Mongia on directive of  the IT Director General (DG) of Investigation Bureau Bihar- Jharkhand.
Giridih SDPO Anil Kumar confirmed to the local media persons about the FIR lodged against the Mongia Steel Limited chairman and his son. However, Giridih Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Renu when contacted on Tuesday evening said that he was yet to get details.

Official sources said  during the IT assessment in the office of Mongia Steel Limited on Sunday night, Harinder Singh  Mongia ,son of  the chairman, and also  one of the directors of the country was found  allegedly deleting data in a computer in presence of the IT officials.

The IT personnel involved in the assessment survey reportedly tried to stop him from  interfering with data in the system but he did not  stop.  After getting information, senior IT officers who had been camping in  Giridih immediately  rushed to the Mongia Steel Limited office and informed the police.

On directive of the higher officers, an FIR was lodged at the Mufassil police station on Monday against both chairman and director for obstructing official work.
