Ranchi, June 6: The credit-linked government schemes which will be provided through the Jan Samarth Portal, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, will have complete transparency and timely disposal of funds, as informed by SBI Head of Bihar and Jharkhand Surendra Rana.

“The purpose of the portal is to provide the common people with various available government schemes. This will be a portal exclusively for the schemes. Farmers can also take the benefits of farmer schemes through the portal. One of the main motives of the portal is to provide transparency and nothing should be hidden,” Rana said.

He added that the portal will run parallel with other banking apps which provide various loans and schemes to people. It is an additional portal created to provide the benefits. There are plans to merge this portal with other banking apps in the future.

While addressing the media at the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FJCCI) Ranchi, The CGST Chief Commissioner of Ranchi spoke about the various initiatives taken by the Centre.

“We started the Quarterly Return Monthly Payment (QRMP) scheme around 6 months back. This allows taxpayers to make the payment monthly but file the return quarterly. We have also initiated faceless and contactless assessment facilities recently. These initiatives help collect tax properly,” he added.

He also said that there has been an upward trend when it comes to the collection of GST in Jharkhand and they are expecting the numbers will go high in the coming years.
