Hazaribag, Feb.7:  A 12-year-old boy Priyanshu Kumar today died after being electrocuted by an 11,000 volts high-tension wire at Kusumbha in Hazaribag.

Ranjan Choudhary, the media in charge of Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal said the boy was playing on the ground when the overhead wire cracked and fell on him.

The MLA got information about this incident and asked Choudhary to ensure proper treatment for the boy at Sheikh Bhikhari medical college and hospital.

Choudhary said the boy was provided first aid and referred to Ranchi as he suffered severe burn injuries.

“I am also in a state of shock after seeing the condition of the boy. His cry made all present in the hospital also cry,” he added.

The doctors at RIMS Ranchi initially refused to take up the case as the boy had severe burns and they would have to amputate his limbs and other parts of the body.

However, the boy passed away in the evening due to the severity of his injuries.
