Hazaribag: Police arrest one accused in gang-raping minor

Hazaribag, Oct 28: Korra police came into action on Friday and arrested one of the two accused of gang-raping a minor girl. The two are identified as Sonu Ansari and Anil Turi. Police said they have arrested Anil and are hunting for the second one.

Sources said the girl, a 10th grader came to the local market when the two abducted her on Oct 23. They took her to a forest area and raped her for two days. The girl approached police on Oct 26.

The officer-in-charge of Korra police station, Uttam Tiwary said the girl had lodged an FIR against the duo after which a manhunt was launched and Anil was nabbed. He said raids are going on to catch Sonu.

“We have sent the girl to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College where her medical examination was done,” he added.

Both accused are residents of Bedmakka village of Tatijharia block.
