Hazaribag, June.16: Teams from different states of the country have reached Barhi for the National Dragon Boat Competition beginning at Jawahar Ghati of Telaiya Dam on Friday. On Thursday, the players were warmly welcomed in the premises of Sridas International School, Barhi, located at Devchanda Mor of Barhi. The organisers said that teams from each and every state of the country are reaching Barhi with their team manager and coach for the dragon boat competition.
Rohit Singh, the manager and principal of the said school cum president of the District Dragon Boat Association, welcomed Vinod Verma, general secretary of the Indian Dragon Board Foundation and the manager and team coach of each team on the school premises. He said that it is a matter of great pride in the history of Jharkhand that the national-level dragon boat competition is going to be held here. He said accommodation, catering and all other basic needs of all these participants and their team coaches are being taken care of by the school management.
Even a state-level dragon boat competition will also be held here in which teams from Hazaribagh, Khunti, West Singhbhum, Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad Dumka, Gumla, Simdega, East Singhbhum as well as other districts are participating.
So far teams from Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh etc. have reached. While the team from other states will reach by late night today.
