Ramgarh, Feb 23: Hazaribagh police have arrested two youths for drug dealing. The accused have been identified as Abu Ubaid, son of Yunus Qasmi, a resident of Pelawal village under Pelawal OP police station area and Mohammed Adnan, son of Md Rustam, a resident of Toyo village of Khukhra police station area of Giridih district.
Both youths are accused of smuggling brown sugar. Police have recovered six grams of brown sugar from them. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered and the accused have been sent to judicial custody.
Pelawal OP police station in-charge Abhishek Kumar Singh said that information was received that both the accused are involved in the smuggling of banned drugs in the area.
After verification of the information, an action plan was prepared for the arrest of the accused. Investigation revealed that both the youths are very clever and so the police team reached them as customers.
However, during the operation, the youths were successful in escaping.
After this, raids were conducted and they were arrested. During the interrogation, the arrested youths have revealed the names of many more people involved in this business. Police have started a probe in the matter to pin down other members of the syndicate.
