Jamshedpur, May 10:  Weathermen at IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre today said that heat will continue to intensify in Jharkhand in the absence of rain.

Meteorological department officials ruled out the possibility of rain atleast in the next three days.

” Weather condition in most parts of Jharkhand is expected to be clear and dry in the next 72- hours. Day’s temperature would witness a rising trend, ” said a weather analyst at the  Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

Today’s satellite pictures suggested no significant synoptic system prevailing over the state.

The well-marked low-pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea persists.

It is very likely to intensify into a depression over the same region and subsequently into a cyclonic storm over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of the east central Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea today, Wednesday.

It is likely to move initially north-northwestwards till  May 11. Thereafter, it is likely to recurve gradually and move north-northeastwards towards the Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts.

Meteorological statistics suggested that very light rain took place at isolated places over the state during the past 24- hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 43.3°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.6°C was recorded at Garhwa.
