Jamshedpur, June 7: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre extended the heat wave warning in the state till June 10.
Weathermen said Loo, the hot and dry wind, would continue to blow across Jharkhand for the next four days.
Weathernen ruled out rainfall activity due to adverse weather conditions. But said that isolated places might witness light rain due to local cloud formation.
The discomfort index was very high in several districts today. In some places, the discomfort index was found to be 10-12 points above normal.
Today’s satellite pictures showed that the trough from east Bihar to Telangana was today running from northeast Madhya Pradesh to north interior Karnataka across Vidarbha and Telangana at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
The trough in mid-tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level was today running roughly along Long. 82°E and to the north of Lat. 27°N.
Most places notched around 40 degrees in the past 24- hours. However, weathermen said that the day’s reading would not witness much variations in the next 72- hours.
