New Delhi, May 8: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam on Monday and Tuesday, where he will visit the India-Bangladesh border, inaugurate the National Forensic Sciences University, and attend the Himanta Biswa Sarma government’s first anniversary celebration.
On Monday, Shah would visit a Boundary Out Post (BOP) in Mankachar and meet with BSF soldiers stationed along the international border, according to officials.
The home minister will then open the BSF’s central store and workshop in Tamulpur, as well as launch Khadi and Village Industries products. He will open a census office and an SSB building in Amingaon, near Guwahati, in the evening.
In Guwahati, Shah will also open a super speciality hospital and the National Forensic Sciences University.
Officials said the home minister will inspect the Assam Police ceremonial parade on Tuesday, engage with officers and jawans, and have lunch with them at their headquarters. He will attend a gathering in Guwahati in the afternoon to mark the one-year anniversary of the Himanta Biswa Sarma government before laying the foundation for the city’s new police commissionerate structure.
