Ranchi: For the first time, the Indian Air Force is set to dazzle the skies of Jharkhand’s capital, Ranchi, with a thrilling air show showcasing its might and aerial prowess. The grand event will be held on April 19 and 20 at the Khoja Toli Army Ground in Namkum between 9:45 AM and 10:45 AM.
10 Hawk Jets to Perform Stunts in the Sky
Spectators must take their seats by 8:30 AM, as the show will begin promptly with 10 Hawk jets from the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team performing daring and breathtaking maneuvers, demonstrating the strength and precision of the Indian Air Force.
Skies Over Ranchi Roar with IAF’s Bravery
All ten Hawk jets have already landed at Ranchi Airport. The Surya Kiran team has conducted preliminary aerial mapping and test flights, thrilling residents with glimpses of the IAF’s courage and technical excellence even before the official event.
Airspace to Remain Shut for Two Hours
To ensure safety during the performance, the airspace above Ranchi Airport will remain completely shut from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM on both days. No flights will land or take off during this time.
According to airport authorities, some flight timings will be adjusted — particularly IndiGo flights from Hyderabad and Mumbai, and IndiGo and Air India flights to Delhi. However, no flights are expected to be cancelled.
200-Metre No-Fly Zone Around Army Ground
A 200-metre radius around the Army Ground has been declared a No-Fly Zone till May 20. Flying drones, paragliders, or hot air balloons in this area is strictly prohibited, and any violations will invite stern action.
Top Officials to Attend, Students Encouraged to Participate
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal A.P. Singh will personally attend the event, confirmed Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth. He has urged schools and colleges to send students to witness the valor of the Indian Air Force up close.
Tight Security Arrangements in Place
Authorities have made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the safety and success of the air show:

Meat and Fish Sales Banned to Prevent Bird Activity
To prevent bird interference during the show, sale of meat and fish has been banned within a 200-metre radius of Khoja Toli. All such shops will remain closed from 6 AM to 11 PM on both April 19 and 20.
