Ranchi, Aug 29: An induction programme was organised for the newly admitted students of academic session 2022 at ICFAI University, Jharkhand campus which saw the participation of both parents and students of all the programmes of 2022 batch. Swami Antaranand Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Ranchi was present as special guest at the inauguration ceremony.
Welcoming the participants to the programme, Professor O R S Rao, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI University said, “Our University is focused on grooming our students as competent professionals with a value of aptitude and character”.
He further elaborated on how the university updates its curriculum and equips the students with practical skills in line with Industry 4.0. He advised the students to adopt the five qualities of a student – hard work and perseverance of a crow, concentration of a crane, alertness of a dog, limited worldly desires and distractions, desire to step out of the comfort zone of home.
The VC further encouraged them to study with determination, discipline, dedication and diligence which he said is the key to success. Highlighting the need for collaborative efforts of the parents and the University for the success of their children, Prof Rao urged the parents to cooperate with the University by participating in the parent-teacher meetings and encourage more efforts of the Institute.
Addressing the students, Swami Antaranand Maharaj advised the students to develop spirituality for inner peace of mind. He also encouraged them to focus on character development, which is vital to their success and happiness.
Parents present on the occasion, expressed happiness over the initiative taken by the university to provide quality education along with personality development. The students of the senior batches shared their experiences of campus life and teachings from the recently concluded summer internship.
Professor Arvind Kumar of the university said that apart from academics, the University undertakes several social outreach initiatives for the inclusive development of neighboring villages and you all get an opportunity to actively participate in them. “In addition, you can participate in a range of extra-curricular activities for all round personality development,” he added.
