Dhanbad, Oct 28: Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) Ranchi Dr DK Singh has been conferred with the prestigious Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Award.
ISRO chairman Dr Somnath presented the award to Dr Singh during the 38th Convention of IEI Electronics and Telecommunication in Kochi on Friday.
Before becoming the first vice-chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology Ranchi, Dr Singh was director of BIT Sindri.
BIT Sindri faculty members have congratulated Dr DK Singh for getting the prestigious IEI Award. Prof Ghanshyam, chairman of Career Development Centre (CDC) BIT Sindri said that Dr. D K Singh’s recognition with the IEI award is a testament to his exceptional contributions and dedication to the field of engineering.
“ We applaud his achievements and wish him continuous success in his endeavors,” said Prof Ghanshyam.
He said the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) is a renowned professional body that brings together engineers from various disciplines and provides a global platform for sharing professional interests.
With a membership strength of nearly 0.7 million, the IEI has been serving the engineering fraternity since its establishment in 1920. It is deeply rooted in the history of modern-day engineering and holds the distinction of being incorporated by the Royal Charter in 1935, the only professional body in India to receive such an honour.
“The IEI plays a vital role in promoting professional excellence and has earned a place of pride in prestigious organizations worldwide. It facilitates collaboration among professional engineers, academicians, and researchers, offering a wide range of technical, professional, and support services to the Government, industries, academia, and the engineering fraternity. With over 125 centers across the country, IEI provides grant-in-aid to its members for conducting research on engineering subjects.
