IIM Ranchi commences on-campus Advanced Development Programme for IPoS

Ranchi, Jan 31: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi on Monday commenced an on-campus residential Advanced Development Programme (ADP) for the senior officers of the Indian Postal Services (IPoS), Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India.

The customized two-week residential training programme that aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of the participants in terms of leadership, management, and strategic decision-making, is set to run till February 10, 2023.

The Indian Postal Service (IPoS) is one among the Group ‘A’ civil services in India.The programme’s participants, attending from across India,have about 26-28 years of service seniority. The Advanced Development Programme is part of the third phase of their Mid-Career Training Programme.

Notably, the programme covers inputs from all major domains of management (viz. accounting and finance, marketing, operations, organizational behaviour, human resource, and strategy) that is most useful and relevant for the officers of IPoS.

The programme introduces participants to various pedagogical approaches like lectures, in-class activities, field visits, benchmarking visits and group activities to enhance individual learning and promote group dynamics. The programme shall help the participants hone their management competencies and leadership abilities to become more innovative and efficient in their respective roles and functions in their workplace.

Prof Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi and Ambesh Upmanyu, Additional Director, Indian Postal Services (IPoS), inaugurated the programme. The programme directors, Prof Tanusree Dutta and Prof Amarendu Nandy, along with other faculty and staff members were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
