Dhanbad, Feb 26: In the wake of the crisis of blood in Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad and other government hospitals, the organization of IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) ‘Fast Forward India’ will organize a blood donation camp at the health center of the institution tomorrow.

Anand  Yadav, one of the organizers of the blood donation camp said the donation camp would operate from 9 am to  5 pm under the supervision of SNMMCH and private hospital doctors.  Besides members of  Fast Forward India, students of campus and other interested donors have also been invited.

“To encourage the donors, Fast Forward India has also resolved to felicitate the donors with appreciation letters and momentum after donation,” said Anand Yadav.

IIT ISM students and their organizations are major blood contributors of Shahid  Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital Dhanbad which provides blood to its patients free of cost.

Since due to the Corona pandemic blood donation to SNMMC by the different organizations including IIT ISM has been almost defunct,  the Blood Bank of the medical college is facing a severe crisis to cater requirements of patients in the hospital.

An official of  Blood Bank said thalassemia patients are suffering to a great extent from a blood crisis.
