Sahibganj: An accused has been arrested in connection with illegal withdrawal of Rs 89 lakh from MP fund. It is noteworthy that illegal withdrawal of Rs 89 lakh was made from the MP fund of Bihar’s Maharajganj MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal. In this case, the team of Patna Cyber ??Crime Police Station has arrested a youth named Atul Shakti from Talbanna of Nagar police station area on Wednesday. It is said that he is a software engineer.

A two-member team of Bihar Police has taken the arrested youth to Patna with them on transit remand. According to the information, on November 4, 2020, two checks were cloned in a single day and fraudulent withdrawal of 47 lakhs and 42 lakhs i.e. a total of Rs 89 lakhs was done.

The MP got information about this fraud in February this year. In the preliminary investigation, the police came to know that the check has been cloned and transferred to the bank account of a person named Sandeep in the Bank of Baroda branch of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. After that the investigation started after registering a case in this matter. So far four people have been arrested in this case. This is the fifth arrest from Sahibganj. The team of Bihar Police was chasing the youth from Kolkata on the basis of mobile location. The police arrested him as soon as he got down from the Howrah Jamalpur Express train.
