Jamshedpur, Oct 25: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of fog and mist across Jharkhand in the next 72 hours.

Weathermen said several places especially those located in higher terrains would witness early morning fog and mist. Later, in the day the sky would become clear.

Meanwhile, yesterday the severe cyclonic storm “Hamoon”  over the Northwest Bay of Bengal moved east-northeastwards and intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm and was laid centred over Northwest and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal, near latitude 20.0°N and longitude 89.5°E, about 290 km east of Paradip (Odisha), 270 km southeast of Digha (West Bengal), 230 km south-southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh) and 350 km southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh).

It is likely to weaken gradually while moving northeastwards and cross the Bangladesh coast between Khepupara and Chittagong around this evening as a cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 65 to 75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph.

Weathermen ruled out any significant impact of the severe cyclonic storm “Hamoon” over Jharkhand.
