Jamshedpur, June 27: Heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places over Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, Pakur and Sahibganj today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Weathermen said monsoon activity was normal in Jharkhand since the past 48- hours with many places experiencing light to moderate rain. Heavy rain was also reported from some places in the past 24- hours.
The Northern Limit of the Monsoon was passing through Porbandar, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Narnaul and Firozpur.
A low-pressure area over north Odisha and the neighbourhood was today lying over north interior Odisha and adjoining south Jharkhand and north Chhattisgarh.
An associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. It is very likely to move towards north Madhya Pradesh during the next two days.
Statistics revealed that the state’s rain deficit came down to 64 per cent from 70 per cent due to widespread rain.
Against a normal of 149 mm rain, the state has so far received rainfall of 54 mm.
