Jamshedpur, July 18: The rainfall in Jharkhand so far this monsoon is not upto the mark, resulting in a rain deficit of 48 percent.
Statistics revealed that against a normal rain of 359.9 mm, the state has so far received 185.5 mm, a deficit of 48 percent.
Meanwhile, weathermen at IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre ruled out possibility of heavy rain in any districts today.
The forecast for Monday suggests light to moderate rain with possibility of thunder and lightning at a few isolated places due formation of convective clouds in hilly terrains.
The sun played hide and seek at several places today including Jamshedpur.
A duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre said that heavy moisture incursion was taking place in the atmosphere.
Capital Ranchi was facing rain deficit of 42 per cent. Against a normal of 371 mm, Ranchi has so far received 216.9 mm.
Chatra was facing heavy rain deficit of 76 per cent followed by Garhwa and Pakur which were facing rain deficit of 73 per cent.
