IMD issues thundershowers, lightning alerts in isolated places over Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Sep 1: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of thundershowers and lightning in isolated places across Jharkhand today.

“Thundershowers and lightning are likely to occur at isolated places over north-eastern and adjoining central parts of the state today,” said a duty officer at Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

Thundershowers and lightning are also likely to occur at isolated places over Jharkhand tomorrow, September 2.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to run along the foothills of the Himalayas.

The cyclonic circulation now lies over the northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

Another cyclonic circulation lies over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar between 3.1 and  4.5 km above mean sea level.
