Jamshedpur, April 26: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicted light rain and thunderstorm activity in several parts of Jharkhand today.
The Meteorological Centre also issued an alert for hailstorms in isolated places tomorrow, April 27.
Weathermen said a trough was running from the cyclonic circulation over west Vidarbha to South interior Karnataka across Marathwada extending up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
A fresh Western Disturbance lies as a cyclonic circulation over southeast Iran between 3.1 Km to 7.6 Km above mean sea levels.
It is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from April 26.
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms occurred at many places over the state during the past 24 – hours while hail was also recorded in Bokaro.
The highest rainfall recorded was 30.2 mm at Bokaro-Thermal. The highest maximum temperature of 35.2°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 19.5°C was recorded at Bokaro.
Meteorological statistics suggested that the maximum temperature witnessed an abrupt fall in most parts of the state due to the rain and thunderstorm activity during the last couple of days.
According to weather statistics, the day’s temperature dropped below 35 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state during the last 24 hours.
