Jamshedpur, April 22: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre on Saturday withdrew the heat wave alert from Jharkhand as maximum temperature dropped due to cloud cover.
The Met office instead issued a forecast of light to moderate rain or thunderstorm at few places over the state today.
An alert of strong surface wind blowing at a speed of 30- 40 Kmph was also issued for isolated areas fir today and the next 48- hours.
Today’s satellite pictures suggested a cyclonic circulation over central Uttar Pradesh at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
A low-pressure trough line was also stretched from Vidarbha to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain with thunderstorm occurred at one or two
while warm night prevailed at isolated places over the state during the past 24- hours.
The highest rainfall recorded was 1.5 mm at
Pakur. The highest maximum temperature of 44.7°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.1°C was recorded at Simdega.
Today’s forecast indicated gradual fall in maximum temperature by 3-5 °C during next three days, thereafter no large change in subsequent two days.
