Cape Town, Jan 10: The Indian team could make a few changes to it final playing XI for the third Test match against South Africa, scheduled to begin from Tuesday in Cape Town. For the third Test match between India and South Africa, Ishant would be selected ahead of Umesh to replace injured Siraj. According to the reports, Ishant will likely be chosen because the seasoned bowler will provide better control and will be able to strangle the runs. Despite his slowing pace, Ishant appears to be the man for the last Test.
Notably, Siraj had strained his hamstring early in the game when bowling against the Wanderers and had to exit the game. Ishant, who has appeared in over 100 Tests and taken over 300 wickets, will be a major player at Newlands.
On the other hand, India Test captain Virat Kohli is also set to make a return to the side. According to the reports, Hanuma Vihari is going to make way for Kohli’s return. There were rumours that Ajinkya Rahane could face the axe but that may not be the case at Cape Town.
India Playing XI:
KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (C), Ajinkya Rahane/Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma.
