Chandigarh, Aug 21: Security services have been put on high alert Following threats of impending terrorist attacks from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in Chandigarh and Mohali in the Punjab.

Terrorists may target bus stops in Chandigarh and Mohali, according to intelligence. The state police, GRP, and State Intelligence Agency have been requested to coordinate and work on the inputs from intelligence agencies.

This occurs a day after a threat message warning of a terror attack resembling that of September 11, 2001, was received to the WhatsApp account for Mumbai Police traffic control.

The security authorities were placed on high alert before the 75th anniversary celebrations of Independence Day. According to intelligence reports, terrorist organisations based in Pakistan have been smuggling weapons and ammunition into the nation while planning intricate attacks on security institutions and forward posts.
