In IPL Phase-2, the second match of the day will be played between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. The match between the two teams will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The Chennai Super Kings, on Friday, became the first team to qualify for the playoffs after beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad. With a net run rate of 1.002, CSK will now aim to finish in the top 2 in the points table by getting 2 points. Chennai has won 7 matches in a row on the UAE grounds and is in a very good rhythm. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals are currently at the seventh position in the points table. The team has played 11 matches and won only four. In the last 3 matches, the team got one defeat after the other. If they lose another game, it would be extremely tough for them to make it to the playoffs.

The biggest cause of trouble for RR has been the form of its players. Liam Livingston has scored 36 runs in four innings, Riyan Parag has 93 in 10 innings and only 99 runs have been seen with the bat of Rahul Tewatia. In the last three matches, only 12 wickets have come in the account of RR bowlers. Mustafizur Rahman has also taken five of these wickets. In such a situation, these figures clearly show that the other bowlers of the team are not in rhythm at all. Chris Morris, who took 14 wickets in Phase-1, can be seen longing for a wicket each in the UAE leg. The surprising thing is that the team has so far kept its star spinner Shreyas Gopal sitting on the bench. If the Royals want to get back on the winning track, then the bowling department will now have to take responsibility.
