Ranchi, Oct.29: Group general manager of Eastern Zone of IRCTC, Zafar Azam, today directed all the stall managers running their stalls at Ranchi railway station to provide Janta Food to poor railway passengers.
Azam, who was on a Ranchi trip for the first time in the present official capacity, said that it is not good to stop to provide the service and made them aware of its benefit for poor.
“Sab Jagah Kamane Ka Hi Mat Sochiye, Garib Ke Baare Mein Bhi Sockhiye (Do not thing about earning everywhere. Think about poor also ),” Azam said.
A stall owner said that fixed price of Rs 15 for Janta Food is too low and at such a low cost it is not possible to provide food as the material required to prepare food is costly and it is not profitable for the stall owners.
On which Azam said that they will not have to prepare food and it will be provided from one place, Food Plaza, for Rs 14 per packet and it is expected they will sell it for Rs 15 per packet taking the profit of Re 1.
Earlier, Azam talked about a plan to promote tourism making Jharkhand and Bihar one unit. He said it will not only create job opportunities but also help bring foreign currency to these states having many places of religious, natural and archaeological importance. He said that this exercise will also help strengthen international relations and create job opportunities.
Azam assured the beginning of a base kitchen at Ranchi Railway station and pantry car facilities in long-distance trains like Rourkela-Jaynagar, and Maurya Express, among others. He also initiated proper initiatives for running water kiosks and the sale of Rail Neer at stations.
