J-K: Three soldiers on patrolling duty die after falling into gorge in Kupwara

New Delhi, Jan 11: Three Indian Army Chinar Corps jawans perished on Wednesday after falling down a deep gorge while patrolling in a forward region close to the LoC in the Machhal sector of the Kupwara state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mortal remains of all three army personnel have been retrieved.

The event took place in the Machhal area, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army stated. A party consisting of 1 JCO and 2 ORs fell into a steep gorge during a routine operation task in the forward region when snow on the trail gave way. All three bravehearts’ mortal remains have been found.
