Jamshedpur: Bike-borne men rob collection agent of Rs 4.5 lakh at gunpoint

Jamshedpur, Dec 20: Two bike-borne criminals snatched a bag containing Rs 4.5 lakh from the collection agent of a private bank on Karandih-Parsudih Road under the Parsudih thana area on Tuesday afternoon.

The agent, Harish Mukhi, was on his way to Bistupur through Jugsalai on his bike carrying the collected amount to deposit in Fino Payment Bank when the criminals snatched a bag containing the amount.

Moreover, the act of looting was committed barely 100 metres away from the Parsudih thana.

Rankumar Verma, OC, Parsudih thana, confirmed the crime and said they are trying to detect the case.

“Though the victim is yet to lodge a written complaint, we have started the investigation as per the initial information. We are trying to scan CCTV footage of the crime scene to detect the case,” said Rankumar Verma while talking to lagatar.com.

According to the victim, after withdrawing cash from the Eastern parts of the city, he was heading towards Bistupur. As he was about to turn for Jugsalai on Karandih-Parsudih road, two bike-borne criminals wearing helmets intercepted his bike and held out a pistol, pointing at him they demanding to hand over the bag.

The criminals had moved towards Karandi with the bag. He immediately informed the bank management concerned and then came to the Parsudih thana to inform the police.
