Jamshedpur, July 21: Local BJP leader Abhay Singh and others have been granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court today, in the Kadma communal violence case.

The HC bench comprising Justice SN Prasad and Justice Subhash Chand gave the verdict on the bail plea of ?? the BJP leader and several others accused of inciting a riot at Shastrinagar in Kadma after the Ramnavami festival earlier this year.

The court provided bail to more than 30 accused along with Abhay Singh, who is currently listed at the Ghaghidih Central Jail.

On behalf of Abhay Singh, senior HC advocates RS Majumdar and Rohan Majumdar argued.

On the other hand, advocate Bholanath Ojha argued on behalf of the state government.

In the arguments made by the government, the court was told that in the case diary, the involvement of Abhay Singh in the conspiracy to incite violence has come to the fore.

After not getting bail from the lower court, Abhay Singh filed a bail petition in Jharkhand High Court.

The BJP leader was arrested on charges of instigating communal violence at Shastrinagar in Kadma and sent to jail on April 10 along with about 60 others.

Abhay Singh who is convenor of Jamshedpur Central Ramnavami Akhara Samiti besides being in the BJP explained how he might have been implicated in a case for instigating communal violence at Shastrinagar in Kadma.

Notably, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda, state BJP chief Babulal Marandi and Jamshedpur MP  Bidyut Baran Mahto had visited the central jail earlier to meet the BJP leader.

The BJP leaders had assured Abhay Singh of all necessary help to ensure justice and his early release from the central jail.
