Jamshedpur, May 22: Steel city of Jamshedpur today took one step ahead in its efforts towards the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) campaign with the opening of the first RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Centre at the Circuit House Area.

The RRR Centre, promoted by Tata Steel UISL  in collaboration with the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC)  aims to promote the principles of ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ among the city’s residents.

Officials said its objective is to create awareness, inspire action and encourage a collective sense of responsibility towards the environment.

The centre will manage and handle solid waste and through the process of segregation, the recyclable items will be separated and processed for reuse.

Ritu Raj Sinha, managing director of Tata Steel UISL said that the RRR Centre marks a significant step towards achieving a clean and sustainable environment.

He also stated that behavioral change communication should also be given to school children and a consistent effort by the communities and individuals would remain the key strategy to achieve the objectives of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

An innovative mobile app has been designed to facilitate paperless work and provide instant e-certificates for contributory items in kilograms, along with the photographs of the donors.
