Jamshedpur: Naga Sadhus take holy dip in Domuhani ghat on Maha Shivratri

Jamshedpur, Feb 18: Over a dozen Naga Sadhus took a holy dip at Domuhani ghat, the converging point of Subernarekha and Kharkai along Sonari locality of steel city on Saturday morning. 

The serene atmosphere of the Domuhani was filled with religious fervour as the devotees and the visiting Sadhus chanted Har Har Mahadev marking the holy Shivaratri. 

Among those engrossed with the saintly enthusiasts was Banna Gupta, the minister of Health and Disaster Management, who has taken a leading role in turning the Domuhani ghat into a vibrant religious site. 

As time passed on, thousands of devotees started visiting the Shiva temple set up near the Domuhani ghat for having a glimpse of the Lord and his  ‘Jalabhishek’ with the minister welcoming them all with folded hands. 

The Naga Sadhus have come for the holy dip in the Domuhani ghat from Varanasi 18 priests came from the same place for making the Shivaratri at the ghat. 

Significantly, there will be a grand Arti in the line of Ganga Arti of Varanasi at the Domuhani ghat this evening.  After the Arti, a Bhajan program has also been scheduled at the ghat in the night when famous Bhajan singer Bharat Sharma will present the popular Bhajans of Lord Shiva. 

“The Domuhani ghat will increasingly be a place of people’s attraction as this has already started to emerge as a religious site. We will try to make the Pius place more attractive in the days to come,” said the health minister who represents Jamshedpur West assembly constituency while talking to lagatar24.com.
