Jamshedpur, Oct 30: Jamshedpur police has sounded high alert following the serial blasts that took place at Ernakulam in Kerala on Sunday morning.
The police were prompted to take the precautionary measure as Steel City is a place having the presence of multinational people who might need extra security in view of the Kerala serial blasts which are suspected to be a terrorist act.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kaushal Kishore confirmed about the police being on alert after the serial blasts suspected to have been triggered by people having link with some terrorist outfit.
“In fact, alert has been sounded across the Jharkhand in view of the Kerala blasts and thus we have also put the East Singhbhum district on alert,” observed the Senior SP while responding to the queries by lagatar24.com.
Intelligence sources said though the reason behind the suspected terrorist act at a Christian religious congregation in Ernakulam is being probed by security agencies, it is like a wake-up call for the police and intelligence department in view of what is going on in the Middle East.
“Being an important industrial city, several foreign nationals, including from Israel visit here for professional purposes. But as of now we have got no information from any company about the presence of any foreign national as such in the steel city. But we are keeping a close eye on the aspect,” said the official.
