Jamshedpur: One dies, three injured in road accident

Jamshedpur, Feb 20: One died on the spot and three others were injured as a speeding dumper hit a car on DB Road under Bagbera thana late Sunday night. 

The victims were returning to their homes from Deoghar at about 11:30 pm when the heavy vehicle directly hit the car from the opposite direction.  Having caused the accident, the dumper sped away toward the Station area. 

As a result of the mishap, all four people aboard the car were flung out of the vehicle and fell on the road.  As the mishap took place in a residential area, local residents came out of their houses and rescued the victims. They rushed them to Tata Main Hospital where one of them was declared as brought dead. 

The injured have been admitted to the hospital where the condition of one of them is critical. 

The dead person was identified as Chhotu Prashad (40), a resident of Bagbera Colony and father of two children. The injured were identified as Mantu, Pintu and Tunna, all residents of Bagbera Colony. The condition of Mantu is stated to be critical. 

“No one else was around when the mishap took place. We are trying to identify the dumper by taking CCTV footage ” said the officer-in-charge of the Bagbera thana while talking to lagatar24.com.
