Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Police today arrested a 32-year-old criminal Mohammed Abdulla for allegedly inflicting gun-shut injury to a youth near Golmuri market on the night of Saturday.
While arresting the accused, the police recovered a pistol along with a live cartridge from his possession.
Revealing the breakthrough, SP (City) K Vijay Shankar said that Abdulla who has a criminal record had along with two of his associates attacked a local youth Amandeep Singh in the vicinity of Golmuri market on Saturday night.
During the attack, Abdulla had taken an unlicensed pistol from his friend Aman Safedi and fired upon Amandeep, causing him to sustain the gun-shut injury in his shoulder.
“The victim Amanda (28) was rushed to Tata Main Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for the grievous injury he sustained in the shoulder. The police had registered a case against Abdulla and his two associates on the statement made by Amandeep,” said Vijay Shankar while addressing a press conference in the Morning afternoon.
The City SP pointed out till two years back Abdulla used to be a friend of Amandeep, but due to some difference of opinion between the two, they had developed bad blood against each other.
“On Saturday night when Abdulla was returning home along with a friend on a scooter, he had intercepted Amandeep after overtaking his bike in the marketplace. Soon after the two had started fighting which had later aggravated after supporters of both of them had turned up at the scene, ” said the senior police officer, adding that Abdulla had suddenly started firing at Amandeep having taken a pistol from one of his friends identified as Aman Safedi.
Aman Safedi who is also wanted in the case has absconded.
