Jamshedpur, June 7: Apparently a semi-burnt body of a middle-aged man was found lying on the bank of the Subernarekha River along the Sakchi thana area on Wednesday morning.
Though it appears that someone might have tried to hide evidence by dumping the semi-burnt body in the river bank, the police claim it to be not a murder case.
The body seems to be that of a man hailing from a moderate family and is still unidentified.
A couple of bustee dwellers who had come to the river for taking a bath spotted the body and spread the information about it, leading to reach to the Sakchi thana under whose jurisdiction the spot falls.
Later a police party arrived at the scene and shifted it to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem.
OC, Sakchi Thana, Sanjay Singh confirmed about the recovery of a man’s body from the Subernarekha river bank but denied it to be a murder case.
“There is no injury mark on the body. It is not a murder case. We are expecting an autopsy report and the cause of death can be ascertained only through the postmortem report, ” said the OC.
Significantly, the sight of a semi-burnt body in the Subernarekha river bank has created a sensation among the people staying along the river.
