Jamshedpur, Oct 26: A 27-year-old youth identified as Shubham Kumar was thrashed by a gang of four miscreants after he was abducted from the vicinity of Hudco dam under the Telco Thana area on Wednesday evening.
Shubham who is an employee of Nuvoco cement company was abducted at gunpoint and brought in a car to a place in Manifit which also falls under the same police station area, where he was thrashed mercilessly by the abductors.
The place where the victim was assaulted was a cattle shed and the abductors had tied him with a chair before the thrashing.
Significantly, after the assault, the abductors who allegedly included Rahul Gupta and Rishabh Gupta had dropped the victim back near the Hudco dam.
Eventually, when the matter came to the notice of the police, a police party reached the spot and rushed the victim to MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) for treatment.
OC, Telco Thana, Naresh Prasad Sinha confirmed that the assault meted out to the youth Shubham Kumar to be true.
“We are taking the statement of the injured youth at MGMMCH. From the statement it was learned that Shubham was with his girlfriend near the Hudco dam in the evening when he was allegedly abducted, ” said the OC while talking to lagatar24.com.
Sinha said this appears to be a matter involving the girl, adding that they are trying to detect those involved in the abduction and the assault.
