Jamshedpur, Mar 12: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has demanded a direct flight service between Ranchi and Jaipur for the convenience of numerous people travelling from Jharkhand to Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan.
The trade outfit has written to various aviation companies including Vistara, Air India, Go Air and Indigo requesting them to start their flight services between the two destinations.
Earlier, the largest and oldest trade body of Kolhan had also written to the union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot for paying heed to their request.
“In absence of a flight or a direct train, numerous people from Jamshedpur and other places are suffering a lot. They are required to travel to Kolkata for catching a flight for Jaipur,” explained Vijay Anand Moonka, president of Singham Chamber of Commerce and industry.
He went on to say that apart from Jaipur there are several other places of historical importance in Rajasthan where people from Jamshedpur and other parts of Jharkhand visit regularly.
“Jaipur and other places in Rajasthan are also a native place for many people residing in Jamshedpur and other parts of Kolhan,” he said.
He went on to say that flight services from Ranchi to Jaipur will not only benefit the people but it will also so act as a major source of revenue earning for the state.
The flight service between Ranchi and Jaipur will also help traders who frequently goes to the pink city for business and trade activities.
