Ranchi, Feb 7: Ayush Kumar Singh from Ranchi has scored 99.99 percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 and may be declared Jharkhand and Ranchi topper. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results and marks of the Joint Entrance Examination Session 2 on its official website on Tuesday.
Talking about his preparation for JEE Mains with Lagatar correspondent, Ayush, son of a manager in Hindalco and a teacher, said that he studied for several hours a day, however, what mattered most was consistency. Ayush, notably, took a break after XII boards and prepared by focusing, and spending most of his time in his institute (FITJEE).
Sharing his success mantra, Ayush said attempting mock tests, PYQs (previous year questions) and NCERT books helped.
While explaining his approach in the exam, Ayush said that he began the paper with PCM, but also made sure to solve questions that were easier, and then shifted his focus to the more difficult questions. Stated that with Chemistry, there are chances that there may be tricky questions, “however, in the case of Maths, if the preparation is strong, clearing the paper becomes easier,” he added.
When asked about his future plans, Ayush said, “My sole focus is now on preparations for JEE Advanced. After that, I hope to go to IIT and then be able to work on contributing to society and the country. Computer Science is one stream that excites everyone, however, before I decide on a particular stream, I’d like to learn about the different options that I will have on the basis of my ranks.”
While discussing his parents’ reaction, he said that they motivated him stating that his results in Mains are just the beginning and have told him to keep his focus on Advance. Mains is a stepping stone, however, Advance is the end goal.
Later, while talking about the important aspects of preparation, he said, “I studied in coaching and at home for JEE Main 2023, following NCERT books and study materials provided by the institute,” he said.
“I relied on the study materials provided by the institute, previous year question papers and NCERT which is sufficient to prepare for the JEE Main 2023,” he added and said that he attempted all the mock tests conducted by the institute throughout the year.
