Koderma, July 7: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested the assistant registrar of a cooperative society, Mitali Sharma, red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs10,000. The Bureau officials have received a complaint from Rameshwar Prasad Yadav who charged Sharma for demanding a bribe.
In his complaint, Yadav said he is a member of the management committee of Koderma Vyapar Mandal Sahyog Samiti Limited. Koderma Vyapar Mandal is the nodal agency for seed distribution. He said, on June 16, Sharma inspected the office and served a show cause to him for a reason not known to him. He said when he went to meet Sharma, she demanded Rs 20,000 to make him escape from this departmental action.
Yadav said he didn’t want to give a bribe so contacted the bureau (ACB) for necessary action in this regard.
In respect of the said complaint, the verification was done by the bureau office. In the verification report, the demand for bribe was found to be true. On the basis of the complaint of Yadav, a case was registered against Sharma in Bureau’s Hazaribagh office numbered-05/2023 dated 06.07.2023. Today a trap was laid and as Yadav handed Rs.10,000 to Sharma, she was nabbed. Sharma is the daughter of Mukesh Sharma, a resident of Bada Bazar Mohalla in Hazaribagh town.
