Chatra, May 24: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Hazaribag has caught the block accounts manager of the health department, Itkhori block Shambhu Kumar Ravi, red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000. A case has been registered against the accused in the ACB in this regard.
It has been told that Panna Lal Rana, a resident of Lita village of Itkhori had given an application to the ACB complaining about Ravi for demanding a bribe. According to the application, vehicle number JH-12 E/9519 of the Panna Lal Rana runs as Mamta vehicle taken by the community health centre of Itkhori.
In lieu of the bill payment for this vehicle, a demand of Rs 4000 was made by Ravi from Rana. The same vehicle was earlier also used for campaigning in the intensive public health survey 2021 against which the bill of Rs.5,250 is still pending.
On April 18, 2023, the block accounts manager Ravi was demanding money in lieu of paying Mamta vehicle’s bill of Rs 25,110. The accused had demanded Rs 4,000 only after which he had asked to pass the remaining payment of Rs 5,250 out of Rs.25,110.
Rana was against giving the bribe and so wrote an application to the superintendent of police of the anti-corruption bureau demanding action. The anti-corruption bureau probed the matter and found it true after which case number 3/23 was registered on Tuesday. Today Shambhu Kumar Ravi was caught red-handed by the anti-corruption Bureau’s trap team. Further action is being taken in this matter.
