Ranchi: In a major policy decision, Jharkhand health minister Dr Irfan Ansari has approved enhanced incentive payments for frontline health workers under the Health Sentinel Programme for FY 2025–26. The move will directly benefit thousands of Sahiyas, Sahiya Sathi, and trainer teams working at the grassroots level. The state will incur an additional expenditure of ₹108.34 crore for the revised honorarium structure.

Revised Honorarium: Sahiyas, Trainers To Get Higher Pay

Under the new structure, rural and urban Sahiyas will now receive ₹4,000 per month instead of ₹2,000. Sahiya Sathi will earn ₹50 per day in place of the earlier ₹375 monthly cap (up to 24 days). Block Trainer Teams (BTT) will now receive ₹80 per day, instead of ₹650 per month, and State Trainer Teams (STT) will be paid ₹100 per day instead of ₹850 per month.

Key Highlights Of The Incentive Revision

The revision includes a monthly hike of ₹2,000 for Sahiyas, substantial improvement in daily earnings for Sahiya Sathi, and daily-based enhancements for both BTT and STT members. The government aims to strengthen the performance, motivation, and retention of health workers to enhance rural and urban health service delivery across the state.
